HFL Breakout Players - 2025

The next list pertains to who is expected to really take another step - or multiple steps - in this upcoming HFL season.

25. Jahron Brathwaite - CB/Cowboys

It's not a great cornerback group in Dallas, but it's a number of guys that are of similar caliber that all have to battle each other to earn snaps. Brathwaite being the youngest of the group with the highest upside.

24. Henry Tatum - IDL/Colts

The Colts are patiently bringing Tatum along to fill the vacated Grover Stewart role next to DeForrest Buckner.

23. Damarious Beckum - S/Washington Football Team

The converted cornerback and former 8th overall pick showed tremendous improvement last year, after his position change. Another leap could help form one of the most dynamic and versatile Safety combinations in the league.

22. Brendan Rusnak - OG/Chiefs

The young buck on the Kansas City line has a tremendous opportunity to learn technique from Creed Humphrey.

21. Sirius Maya - CB/Raiders

Just like the Cowboys, you have similar players in the cornerback group, but one is younger and more naturally talented than the others.

20. Xavien Woods - RB/Chargers

"He's basically Derrick Henry but faster." - Daniel (who's a scout for one HFL organization) told me.

19. Quantez Ray - S/Vikings

18. Tytan Staton - WR/Falcons

17. DeMarcus Reece - OG/Washington Football Team

Solid and steady development in the first two years from a developmental line piece that was thrust into a Day 1 starting role.

16. Damien Rose - CB/Bears

15. Zak Gerard - CB/Dolphins

There's always going to be opportunities playing opposite of Jaire Alex- oh wait, cast aside like garbage at age 24 by the cogs in the machine that run the Packers. Sad story.

14. Angelo Valentine - OT/49ers

13. Remmy Bridgewater - LB/Rams

12. Jackson Brown Jr. - WR/Colts

11. Kerry Randolph - CB/Dolphins

Opportunities eventually come knocking to grinders. And this one has been playing behind Xavien Howard and Byron Jones, who five years ago were in the conversation for best duo at the position.

10. Max Howser - QB/Broncos

9. Copium Jones - LB/Chiefs

8. Justice Jackson - QB/Jaguars

7. Buchi Chidozie - EDGE/Seahawks

6. Brendan Gallimore - RB/Vikings

The future RB1 in Minnesota with Gordon on his final legs.

5. Latrelle Scott - CB/S /Cowboys

4. Rocky Stonewall - OG/Saints

The Saints just continue to develop and churn out quality offensive line talent like a factory.

3. Jackson King Jr. - RB/Jets

It's not a matter of "if" with King, but a matter of "when". And that "when" is when they get him enough touches.

2. Reggie Kirksey - EDGE/Texans

2024' Defensive Rookie of the Year came out of nowhere to establish himself as the top pass rushing threat on the league's #1 ranked defense

1. Marshall Hendrix - WR/TE / 49ers
